Audience data
Audience data is one of the purposes of research because the data shows the number of people who watch TV and listen to whats on the radio. This can help media industry's find their target audience by looking at the number of people who watch TV and will know what media products to make that should get an audience to buy the product. Once you know who your target audience is and by looking at the audience data and you know what their interest are in the media then you can start to make an ad on the product which should get the target audience to notice the product and what to buy is straight away. With audience data BARB collects the audience data by having it pooled overnight and collect it all together around the nation and it collects all of the television data on things such as how many times a TV programme had been viewed and from this they provide this information to broadcasters to keep them up to date. BARB then features everything they have collected on the audience data on their website.
